Print Studio Introduction - Drypoint Etching & Monotype

1 Sunday
October 19
1 pm - 4 pm

Ages 16+

This workshop is for artists interested in print studio membership and is a way for you to gain certification to book open studio time for drypoint and monotype processes’. This workshop is also an introduction to intaglio etching, if students want to use our acid room for metal plate etching they would take our other intro and advanced intaglio courses.

This introduction course will prepare students for safe use of our studio and become familiar with the drypoint etching process through working on a plexi glass etching while also being guided on color layering through monotype techniques. Work with our print studio manager Micah Fornari to be introduced to our studio, learn to etch their plexi plate, layer colors/textures, tear paper, set press pressure, and follow proper clean up procedures in our studio to reserve membership open studio time or just have a taste of this process!

All materials provided.

For those who are hooked and onboard for our print studio membership, you can submit an inquiry form visiting this link to begin the membership process: https://www.drawkingston.org/nps-inquiry-form

Feel free to reach out about any questions you may have about our membership.
