Four Day Class - Intro to Book Arts: Book and Zine Structures (NPS)
4 Tuesdays
April 7, 14, 21, 28 (Make up day: May 5th)
6 - 8:30 pm
Ages 16+
Learn how to create simple books and zines from a variety of easy, effective structures that you can make out of almost any kind of paper.
- Eight fold - a single sheet of paper that makes a book, so you can print and fold a zine with no imposition!
- Sixteen fold - like an eight-fold but more pages.
- Butterfly pamphlet stitch - an easy way to sew up a book, including the eight-fold structure, with a soft cover.
- Accordion fold - this classic structure has so many fun variations, including a technique to make it as long as you like.
- Simple book covers - can be made with decorated paper or book cloth, your choice!
You will come away with models and ideas for how to express your narrative content in a variety of structures. We’ll also cover techniques for making multiples so you have more to share.
